How to study in Canada?

Study in Canada? Or keep things as it is? How can I cover the tuition cost?

  • Okay, these are the two options battling inside my head: 1- Just keep things as it is >> I'm an undergraduate student at UAEU (United Arab Emirates University) Where is that?! DUBAI, lol got it? The university is one of the best universities on the middle east, they have a FREAKIN HUGE budget and a good teachers. I study here for free, everything is paid by the government; tuition, books, food, transportation, training..etc .. just everything!! BUT, I find the environment here not encouraging at all, the students level is low, I don't like the weather here, and most important; my GPA is low because I passed though some really difficult circumstances that had a direct impact on my grades. I WANT ANOTHER CHANCE! I can continue my study here and graduate maybe with a GPA around 3.2 which is not good! my actual level higher than that. OR 2- I'm thinking of applying to study in a Canadian university (Columbia College, Carleton University, Windsor or any other high reputation University) You know, the Canadian universities have all those fabulous standards like the strong accreditation, modern teaching techniques, tools availability, many different programs and diverse community. But see, the first thing always pops up in the mind of a student like me are the tuition costs. I am kinda well off, but I can't afford $25,000 every 8 months!! I hear about the scholarship opportunities there in Canada and I know some people who got scholarships indeed. However when I go and look at the international admission requirements I find it quite difficult or despairing. Keep in mind, option #2 is risky, because if I exit UAE University, I'm not gonna be able to get back again. Question: where/from whom/how can I get a scholarship? and based on what they give Scholarships? high school score? Age? Nationality? Advise me people, thank you in advance.

  • Answer:

Contact the Rotary Club of Dubai - http://www.dubairotary.org/ CIties who have rotary clubs often offer International Scholarships to other Countries with Rotary clubs. SOme Universities offer International Scholarships, but not too many. You aren’t looking at the right schools, though. Columbia is just a small, for profit school aimed at taking a lot of money from foreign students and their degree isn’t well respected. The best Schools: (starting with the highest ranked) McGill in Montreal, QC University of Toronto in Toronto University of British Columbia in Vancouver University of Alberta in Edmonton, Alberta Queens University in Kingston, Ontario University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario York University in Toronto McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario University of Waterloo, Waterloo, Ontario University of Saskatchewan University of Victoria, Victoria, BC University of Ottawa Carleton University University of Nova Scotia Acadia University of Guelph University of Windsor
