Is Cambridge a cheap city to live?

Oxford or Cambridge? (A question for British people)?

  • Oxford or Cambridge? Which city has the most friendly, the warmest and the most hospitable people? I want to learn English as a foreign language in Oxford or Cambridge, but I´m afraid to live in a city with cold and unwelcoming people. Could you give me advice about this subject please? Thank you very much. PS: I'm an adult woman.

  • Answer:

I found Oxford to be more friendly, it feels like it is warmer and has more history. Cambridge is nice though. Any particular reason why Oxford or Cambridge? You could learn English anywhere in the UK, and whilst Oxford and Cambridge are traditionally the 'best' universities, there are plenty of friendly places.

I'm from Oxford, don't know Cambridge, but they are both in the south and the North is much friendlier. I don't think Oxford has any of the qualities you are looking for. It is a very small place and we all love yanks, so you have the advantage there.
