Answer:
First of all, stop slogging away like a donkey. Being a ranker is NOT going to get you a good job or improve your PG prospects. Companies complain that engineering graduates are 'unemployable' because all they know is to memorize stuff and puke it on the answer paper. 1. Aim for a realistic target - being in the top half scorers of your class is usually enough. Do Not go below a first class(60% marks) whatever happens. If you do, balance it out in the even semester so that your year's average is 60. 2. Third sem onwards, you must study regularly. That does not mean you put in 4 hours a day, but see that you thoroughly understand everything that is taught and make up for any lost lectures immediately. 3. Books. Use the library! It is not 'cool' to either use or not use reference books. 4. Assignments. These are the real killers in engineering. Never postpone your work. If you do, it will be difficult even to maintain a first class. And do them yourself; don't wait for your friends so that you can copy from them. 5.Preparation Leave. The most valuable period of the semester. If you see this as a vacation, forget good marks. 6. Have fun. Engineering is not like a competitive exam. You are a fool if you think you are sacrificing sports and recreation in order to study. Good Luck!
