Where is the best place to study architecture?

  • i really need a help on this issue. i have to find a place before my parents send me to military...please.........

    well, gee whiz.... no more information? Like where are you located, how much of a college/university can you afford, what is your portfolio like ... what have you found so far ... One can always recommend Yale School of Architecture... do you want to go there? It is rather upscale to say the least... is that what you want? Or some architecture a little closer to tradition... and is that tradition Santa Fe, San Francisco or Vermont ... or Other_____? You could always escape them and sign up for the Coast Guard..that is not quite so militant...but it does have its role!

Don't study Architecture! Its a massive chunk of your life for Little reward. The hours are long and the pay is crap. You're better off studying either law, medicine or dentistry. The Uni courses are not as long and the pay is far better. I know of one dentist who started on 40K straight out of uni. I started on 20K straight out of uni and still haven't caught up yet.

Manchester University runs a joint architecture degree program with Manchester Metropolitan and my friend has come from Poland to study here. She previously did architecture in Germany. Manchester Uni is where i go, it is a great university.

Dont go into a career for the money, do it because you will live a happier life doing what you can stand to do 5 days a week for 40 years! yes, architecture is a long haul but the rewards are different than money. Noone gets into architecture to get rich. Its a rewarding career that can allow you to dream your dream, while making someone elses dream come true. With all that said, there are a lot of places to study. I chose Lawrence Technological University in Michigan. The education is practical and the professors are professionals themselves. The University of Michigan - Ann Arbor, also has a really good school of architecture. Good luck in your quest
