How are you treated if you are a foreign student in Japan?

How would an African-American foreign exchange student be treated in Japan?

  • I'm just curious because, one day I might go to one of there colleges so, I need to know how would they treat them and yes, I'm a black woman. (no negative comments or you'll be voted out) Thank You :)

  • Answer:

Hey I'm thinking about doing that too :D I've never been there but (don't take offense) they probably will stare a lot and ask you a lot of questions. They don't get loads of tourists/foreigners (or gaijin) so it's odd to a lot of people to see someone that stands out. I'm positive they won't be racist -- only curious.
