Medical School Chances?

• I will be applying to Medical School this year. I am double majoring in Neuroscience and Psychology at The University of Michigan - Ann Arbor. I currently have a 3.77 GPA and a 36 MCAT. I am also in a fraternity and one other student group. I am the academic chair in my fraternity but hold no position in the other group. I am a first generation college student from a family of 6, growing up in a suburb of Detroit. I am a research assistant in a neuroscience lab where I administer EEG's and test children's cognitive development. I am VP of a euchre club at Michigan as well. I plan on obtaining at least 60-100 hours of volunteer work this winter and summer before I apply. Likewise, I want to work in a hospital over the summer, as well as job shadow a physician at least 3 or 4 times this spring/summer. I want to know what my chances are at getting into some of these medical schools: Michigan, UPenn, Stanford, U of Chicago, Northwestern, Boston U, Harvard, UCLA, UCSD, Columbia, UNC, Duke, Virginia, etc. If I wouldn't be competitive for any of these schools, where would be a good fit? Or what could I do to become competitive for the schools listed?

  GOOD, 36 from the MCAT MAKES YOUR CHANCES HIGH, BUT Harvard, Upenn, stanford, are just too competitive for you, for you would need a publication for that GPA and majors because neuroscience/psychology are rather too much reading dependent classes that most Americans are very good at. I will not be suprised to find your lowest score in the physical sciences. Diversity(in terms of intellectual experience, not race) is another mechanism for the admissions. I know that one of the other suggested schools would accept you, for that MCAT SCORE is quite good.
