Does Anyone Know About Volunteering Abroad Organizations?

Volunteering/working abroad... anyone know any 100% free volunteer or job programmes abroad?

  • i am looking to take a gap year and experience some new things, so i was thinking about doing some volunteer work or getting an actual job abroad but everywhere i have seemed to have come across you need to pay for the 'privilidge' of volunteering! i cant afford a couple of thousand pounds to go and build a well or work on a wallaby farm but i would really like to do something and i am prepared to put a small amount of my own money into it, but not much as i cant afford it. but after five years of college and university after coming straight out of school i need a break and to see a bit of the world would be great ! any help greatly appreciated.

Been there, done it, and given up..............they want your money aswell as your voluntary help. I wanted to do it too, I've searched for years but all want thousands to volunteer for 6 months etc.......they say it's for the local people you are offering help to, but I think it's just a scam. Great way to get people to do the work and pay them at the same time. Disgraceful isn't it? How many of us are out there willing to volunteer our time and talent to help the needy but can't go and do it because we dont have thousands of pounds to give away. My idea of voluntary work is just that. I want to go to South America (cos I speak fluent Spanish) and say work for 6 months or so but have never found a website that is free! Give up they don't want your help, just your money.
