What privileges will i get if i study engineering in France?

Which is best today to study and work- Europe, United States of America, Australia, Canada or United Kingdom?

  • Hi everyone, I am Varun from India. I planned for studying abroad. Just reaching abroad is not my aim, I want to earn a respectful degree in Undergraduate. But I also want to work so that I can afford my expenses. I have money for first year but for future years of study, I want to earn. So, my aim is to STUDY & WORK. I want to pursue higher studies in Engineering. Some months earlier, I applied for USA but my visa was rejected. I want to reapply. Though it was a very trivial mistake of mine which resulted in refusal but now I am prepared. Still, I am confused about my choice. Firstly, USA has banned h1 visa, secondly, USA is very costly too. Its not sure that whether I can get work there or not. Moreover, in USA only on-campus work is allowed, that means the work opportunities for a student are not enough. When I think about Australia, another problem which I observe is that in Australia now there are already so many people that there also it has work shortage. International students in Australia at present can not find work. For UK, I have heard that is very expensive and the work oppurtunities in UK are same as US. So, what shall I do? I inquired about Europe but there are some barriers like Language Barrier. In France, Italy or Germany its mandatory to know their Language otherwise its difficult to work. Italy and Cyprus don't have enogh work. When I leave all these countries and think about Canada, there too the cicumstances are similar to USA. I AM TOTALLY UNDECIDED. WHICH SHOULD I CHOOSE????????? HELP PLEAASEEEE !!!!!!!!

G'day Varun, I do not entirely agree with the first 2 answerers. Yes... US is famous and the qualifications will give you good jobs AS LONG AS you stick with the well-known universities such as Yale or UCLA. FYI, not all universities in the US are fully accredited. From all places that you mentioned, Australia is most likely have the lowest cost of living, and probably the lowest tuition fee as well due to the exchange rate. On top of tuition fees, you will need to pay for campus fee (vary from each uni) and Overseas Student Health Cover (abt AUD$350/yr) and text books (abt AUD$200). These are the rough estimate of the fees for your study. Before coming to Australia, you will need to pay the fee for student visa processing and health check-up. You may also be required to take an IELTS test for indication of your English proficiency (depending which country you come from) for application to uni and for visa. Living cost... Sydney and Canberra have the highest living cost, followed by Perth, Melbourne & Brisbane. Currently the lowest are Darwin, Adelaide & Tasmania. I am attaching a weblink from one of the uni in Melbourne as an indication. You might probably already know that as an international student in Australia, you are eligible to work max 20hrs/week during semester study period, and full-time only during semester break period. Therefore if your intention of working is to support yourself, then you can't use the earnings from Australia. You can still find work as long as you are not choosey (cleaner, kitchen hands, admin/data entries). It pays between AUD$9-$25/hr gross. Studying overseas is an expensive exercise and therefore you will have to calculate your budget carefully. I am glad that you have done your own research and knows the situation of each places pretty well. There are only 43 universities in Australia and they are tightly regulated, therefore the quality and recognition of their graduates are equal from wherever university you are studying from. The most important thing is you have to READ the course information carefully, since some courses may have the same name but different content. To find out the course that you are taking and where it is offered, I suggest you to go to the online database below. Once you know which uni, just visit their website and check the course info and fees for int. students. Once decided on the uni, fill in the application form and send it together with certified copy of your academic qualification. Hope this helps. Good luck on your research.
