Is there a limit of how many times one can study abroad?

Does studying law in one country limit you to practising only oner there?Which is the best place to study law?

  • I am in high school right now and I want to study law .I am presently in Dubai so I have to go abroad to study . If i study law in canada ,will i be able to practice in usa or vice versa.I want to know if studying in one country only limits you to practice in the same country or is it possible to work in another country as well. And which place would be best to study law within a budget, because Ivy League Universities like Harvard cost alot.

  • Answer:

If you study in Scotland you would only be able to work in England after 'converting' your degree (more study). However the Scottish law is closer to the European law so more people make the switch from Scots to European. Within Europe different countries have their own systems but large law companies often have offices in different countries and will accept you to deal with their foreign clients, especially if you have language skills.

I think you should learn international law. In each country law is different because of their system and laws ,rules .Iam from Uzbekistan and If i will study law here i think i cannot work in the USA because of laws, bills are really different.

To practice law in any English speaking county, and most others" you have to be admitted to the "Bar" in that country. (In the US there separate associations for each state and separate measures for each of the federal district courts.) A Canadian law school will teach you Canadian law which is different from American Federal law or the various state systems. If you are from Dubai, get a law degree and go back home and work to make the legal system there better?

You can study law in A country and work in B country. You will be made to take a paper test (on general laws) from the country you wish to practice in. As for the selection of universities, I suggest you visit the respective websites and short-list them. Ask around for opinions and decide for yourself. Of course, you're have to work within your budget.
