Are Australian Universities better than the UK Universities?

Are the majority of universities in UK/America better than the #1 University of the Phillippines?

• This question just came out of from my head. I mean my dad is pressuring me to make a decision if I want to study medicine in philippines instead in UK since I'm attending a British School. According to him it would be less 2 years for me if I study in Philippines rather than in UK since I only need to finish my iGCSEs to get into the #1 uni in phils. However I'm trying to consider also the costs of education in these countries and what i found out was I'll save 92% if i study in Philippines. So what do you guys reckon?

  Universities have good or bad reputations. In reality, if you are accepted to the Harvard, and do not do the work, you will not succeed in life. The best university in the world is the one that accepts you, with all your warts and rough spots, and teaches you the skills and knowledge you need to find your way through life. Cost is an important question, and there can be significant cost advantages in some obscure places. There can also be cultural exposure which is of value to you in the future. If, however, you already know what your career goals are, you may be better served at a more expensive school which offers advanced training in that area. Wherever you go, you have to do the work. No one is going to do it for you. Good luck, whatever your choice! When it comes to the study of Medicine, times have really changed. A Philippine medical degree plus good test scores will get you into a decent residency almost anywhere in the world, however the degree will not carry the prestige of a UK degree, nor will it be easy to get hospital privileges in the most prestigious hospitals. You will probably be limited in the scope of your practice, once you graduate, and will not find that doors open easily. Your income potential may be seriously reduced, especially if you end up in general practice or internal medicine.
