As Coco said, just go on the university's website and they would be glad to help you, at my university there's quite a few Americans. Be aware though that the universities will charge you an elevated tuition fee compared to UK citizen students, but you would have to check with the individual universities, and if what I'm told is true than tuition fees are less in the UK compared to USA- at least $50, 000 a year?

it is very much possible, you can apply as an international student. Most universities have contact details on their websites, you can call them over the phone and ask how to apply. Best of luck.

How about looking on their web pages and checking? There should be no problem with you studying here as a foreign student, provided that they like your grades and they think you're smart. Just bear in mind that a UK undergraduate degree is quite different to one in America (ours tend to be more intense and with more emphasis on independent work, as in less classwork, as we place less emphasis on the importance of a postgraduate degrees: 3 year PhD means that there's more to fit into a BA + Masters). Of course, at the top, there's Oxford, Cambridge and Imperial, these places are very tough environments where students are pushed *extremely* hard. They're also difficult to get into. But all of the Universities in the Russell group should offer you an excellent standard of education and shouldn't pose problems when it comes to applying for a Masters, provided that you do well. Choose carefully though and make sure you like where you're studying.

Check the websites of the unis you are interested in for the requirements for international students. Pay close attention to the costs. In order to get a visa to go to school in England you have to be able to prove that you can afford it. Financial aid from the US government, if you can even use it at your desired school, will not come close to the costs. A better option would be to go there for a semester or academic year in a study abroad program. You can often use your financial aid to help pay for those and many American schools even have programs that let you go abroad for no extra cost. I'd also recommend doing a lot more research as university in the UK is not the same as in the US. A degree there is 3 years instead of 4 and you don't have to take the core classes required in the US. The style of teaching/learning there is also quite different.
