Answer:
one question i would ask first is Why california in particular. that answer can help you narrow down where you are going to look at going to school. and to be very blunt if you are needing scholarship money the big universities in ca have diddly! depending on your planned major start looking at the smaller schools/the private schools ALL over the US. they have scholarship funds the state schools do not and don't limit yourself to just CA. tuition in the smaller schools is often much higher but they also have the highest scholarship opportunities. also you may not have considered student housing - of the 10 schools our daughter was accepted to only 2 even offered housing after the first year. NONE of the state schools did. NONE.and this was not just California. start by web searching schools that offer what you want to study. then read about the schools and their requirements (dont focus on the money yet) write to the schools you are interested in to get more in depth info on your particular needs/situation then look at scholarship websites as well. my daughter is in her 3rd year in a private university - that is frequently compared to MIT. so small does NOT mean less.. anymore it often means better. good luck

You need your A levels and SAT www.collegeboard.org Many California state schools have very low international student population. UCLA is going to run you at least $50,000 per year as an international student. I HIGHLY recommend looking into schools in other states. They US is huge. Look at the school, not the state You can go on to any US schools' web site to see requirements for international students. they realize you are from an different educational system. tuition, room and board costs, how to apply, an on line application will be on line. YOu will need to apply, be accepted, prove you can pay and then apply for a student visa.
