How important are standard grades when applying for Universities?

Do parents have to be involved when applying to universities?

• i mean like other than making the decision to applying to what programs , whatever. do they have to deal with our transcripts, or anything of that sort, or should our counsellors/high school automatically send our grades to the universities we want to apply to? I am in grade 12 this year, in ontario, applying to univeristies in ontario , so i want to know as much as possible about the admission process , thank you!!

  I'm in the States, but I am sure it's the same policy the Canadian schools have. Parents absolutely have nothing to do with sending transcripts to universities. This is only done by your high school personnel. They will send your transcript confidentially to the universities you apply to.
