Anyone ever studied Abroad in Europe?
-
I would really like to live in Europe, but I would like to get a feel for what it's like first. I'm a 19 year old canadian citizen but am going to be living permently in the states shortly, tranfering to an Ohio university. The safest way I assume would be to set up something with a school to study abroad. Probably study the language of the European country of choice. If you have done this, please share your expiriences, how you set it up and how costly it was. (american dollars). Thanks.

Answer:
you should DEFINITELY study abroad. do it, girl! especially for language because you will learn so much more than you possibly can in a classroom. i have so many friends who studied language in its native land and they came back practically fluent. do it with your own school if possible, ask if any scholarships and financial aid will still be in effect while abroad. i went to the netherlands to study art and had a blast. work hard abroad, but party, too! having a good time is all apart of the experience!! oh, and be sure that the credits will be able to transfer to your school or else you will be spending more time in college than you want. good luck!

I spent a summer in London when I was in college. In addition to study, I also interned at an ad agency. While this was a great experience, professionally and culturally, it was also difficult. I'd advise you to prepare yourself for what it feels like to be a foreigner (it doesn't feel good) and understand that it won't just feel like a vacation. That said, go in with your eyes open and make the most of it. It will be a great resume builder.

I just can't afford to do so. So I travel through the WWW only. Saves money that way, plus its faster. All in the comfort of my own home. When you travel, be safe.
