Is it safe to go to college in Greece?

i might go to Greece next fall for college I'm going to acg ( American college of Greece) and my mum thinks its not safe for me to go alone specially since we don't know anyone there I'm still undecided on whether I'm going to stay on-campus or off so i just wanted to make sure thank you. P.S: I'm from Egypt so i know how unsafe it can be when there are protests and things like that in the country so that's why my mum is worried because at least here I'm with my family.

The wording you've used is American, so I shall laugh at your suggestion that Greece isn't safe to go to. Put it this way; Greece may have riots, though it isn't the country where Virginia Tech happened. Nor Columbine. Nor the other Virginia Tech shooting. Nor the shooting in Illinois. Nor the one at the Amish school. Nor the one in Spokane. Nor the one, recently, in New Hampshire. Nor any of the other spree killings at schools and universities your decadent culture has turned out. So yes, Greece is safe to study at.
