I strongly urge you to finish your studies in Egypt. Make sure you are a fully qualified doctor, and have done all training necessary. Last choice -- If you want to practise in the US take the USMLE followed by 3 additional years of internship-residency. This option is if you are already a foreign medical graduate (fully qualified doctor). If you want to actually go to medical school here then you would pay astronomical amounts of money as an international student. In this case you need to write MCAT exams and be admitted to a medical school. You will need a student visa (F-1 visa). Going to medical school in the US will not be a practical option for you. Where will you get the money? Do you have $30, 000 a year minimum available? You can only get student loans if you have a green card. Disadvantages of coming to the US include: Three year residency plus studying USMLE exams can be very difficult. Many foreign doctors have failed this 3 step exam. You do not have a work visa. It is very hard to get a work visa nowadays. It is also very hard to get a green card. My best friend is a doctor and had to get involved in a "fraud marriage" to stay in the United States. He was unable to get a work sponsored visa. Don't be surprised if you have the same problem. Healthcare reform laws -- uncertainty in the future of US doctors, their income. Best choice -- Go to Canada. Reasons for Canada -- you already have papers there. I assume you are a legal resident of Canada. Even if you don't it is easy to get a work visa for Canada. They have a shortage of skilled workers. They actively encourage immigration. There is work readily available. I do not know about the training (residency) requirements and about the board exams you need to take in Canada. Either way, try to get on an immigration forum for foreign doctors. You will be surprised at the difficulty faced by foreign doctors in the US. I know for sure that the US no longer allows for foreign nurse work visas. They have stopped those since 2007. I strongly urge you to complete your studies in Egypt and make sure that you are fully qualified first before stepping foot in Canada/ US. That way, if your immigration plans fail, you can have a stable job to fall back on at home in Egypt.
