What is the best way to study for something such as vocabulary words?

  • i have to study for a vocabulary quiz every week and it's not my strongest subject, but i don't know how exactly to study for it in a successful way. any suggestions?

    I like to make up flash cards the more you look at something the more you'll remember it. Draw out the cards in different colors for different meanings such as red for verbs, green for objects and so on.

i would recommend you to make a flash card which means, you make a card, on one side you have the word and on the other side you have the definition for this word. it always works well.

Decorate a piece of paper for each word. Write the word, definition, and draw a picture of what the word means. Use lots of different colors, and use those to study. Our brains remember colors easily, and that will help you remember the words during the test. GOOD LUCK !

Flash cards! Nothing works better. Put the vocabulary word on one side, and the definition on the other. Go through the deck over and over, backwards and forward till you know them all.

I like flash cards too. Here's a website that allows you to create web-based flash cards for free, in case you're interested.

go to quizlet.com ..... enter your terms in.... then you can play games, generate flash cards, create tests and all that good stuff..... this site helps me ALOT with my studies

I agree with the flashcards, but I've also discovered that making a recording of them and listening -- especially at night in bed -- works very well for me! I do it with German and I use the word in a German sentence. But, I'm considerably older than the average language student, so need LOTS more help memorizing! :) Good luck
