How do I go about becoming an apprentice brewer?

Degree in Multimedia or go for an Electrician?

  • I am 20 years old and finally making a decision to better my future. After high school i was never really interested in College and thought i could make it with just average jobs, i was making money as a garbage man but got laid off and now I'm here. Anyways i did apply for my community college for Graphic Design but backed out last second. Ive always loved Graphic Design like working in photoshop, iMovie, and i love making videos. Ive always wanted to be a big Youtube guy because i love the camera and editing. Now heres the bad part, what i love doesn't really work for me. I am not creative, i try to be and really wish i was but can never just come up with great ideas. Im a very literal minded person, in high school English and History were my favorite subjects. Now I've decided to go for an electrician. Growing up my stepfather was a painter and i was always on job sites and thought it looked like a pretty cool job. I like messing with electronics and whatnot, id like to be a Electrician at like a big corp or just an on site type of place. Im actually all set and registered for Porter And Chester Tech College but haven't signed the loans yet so I'm still able to change. Elecitican seems to be a good job and bad since layoffs and what not. i understand you have to be an apprentice for about 4years as well. But i am interested in it. Now a job in multimedia would be awesome like working on projects with a crew and making awesome videos. but that seems to be like becoming a famous musician, only a few make it. An electrician seems logical and i may love it. Im just on the fence on what to do here. any help would be great.

  • Answer:

Become an electrician, but keep doing the multimedia stuff in your spare time. The former will bring in steadier income, which is good since the latter will take a while to build up into a career. Also, in reference to the last paragraph... a friend of mine does a lot of filming work, and one of the things he had to learn was how to plug in a whole lot of power-hungry cameras/audio/lighting equipment without tripping every fuse in the building, and other things electricity-related that kind of went over my head :( Anyways, what I'm saying is that even if electrician stuff seems unrelated to the other things you want to do, it might actually come in handy.
