Anything in the hospitality field requires disposable income. In order for there to be disposable income, the economy has to be on the upswing for that particular segment. For example, a manager in Fiji needs a different economic upswing than the manager of a motel 6 in Tulsa. But Fiji is going to have a lot more competition for the same spot. But, like anywhere, pick your niche and be better than everybody else in it, and you'll always have a place to work.
