What are the differences between french and american education systems.?

  • Answer:

One of the biggest differences is that the French use shame to motivate children where as Americans tend to use encouragement to motivate them. This explains a lot of cultural differences. The French system is also very dependent on end of year tests. To get your high school diploma, there's a test called the Bac which must be passed to graduate. Student's in France don't get much credit for effort, attitude, attendance, class participation, etc. What you get on the tests counts for almost everything. However, in the last few years, in both of these areas, the French system has been evolving towards the American direction, and the American system has been evolving to exit exams which are similar to the Bac.
