  Edgar, I work for an exchange student organization called international Experience-USA (iE), and we bring exchange students to the USA, as well as send American students overseas as exchange students. To be an exchange student, you have to be a good student, and you have to pass an interview with someone from the organization. It does cost money to be an exchange student, but there are things that you can do to help pay your way, or maybe even completely pay your way. For instance, if your family hosts one of our exchange students during their stay in the USA, you receive a very big discount for your own exchange.
