What's a good TOEFL score?

I suspect that "good" may be a matter of opinion that varies from person to person. But as to what is "good enough," one test would be to look at admission standards at universities one might want to attend. If ones TOEFL score meets or exceeds the required score, then it would seem like a good score to me, at least on that basis. The university in Texas where I teach requires a TOEFL score of 550 on the paper-based test, a 213 on the computer-based test, or a 79 on the internet-based test. However, some departments, such as Computer Science and English, require higher scores, but will sometimes accept an otherwise good candidate with only the 550 etc score. I'm not very familiar with the TOEFL situation, but have recently become interested and so will check back to see what others have to say to your question and hope thereby to learn more.
