Wait. The price would not go up sharply because its main selling point is its price. There's always a little tweaking needed with launch models. I, personally, am waiting for the van version -- they say it'll cost USD4000.

It's 2,500 dollars dude! there is no quality in that car specifications say it is taller than wide it has no features that make it anything other than a enclosed motor scooter. I can see it now stuck in Bangalore Traffic summertime no A/C. And did you realise a under 700cc motor with 63 hp really would have to work hard to propel you and four or five relitives around. Your mother in law in the back seat complaining that her son in law cannot afford a real car like her other daughters husban has a Mahrinda Mahrinda. You India people sure have some real traffic issues and population issues to deal with before you can enjoy a drive in the country.

It is extremely unlikely that prices fo Nano will go up. Tata have comitted to a price, and they have stuck to it. As production starts and volumes go up, prices will go down further. Only way prices go up will if the govefrnment imposes taxes on small car - it is extremely unlikely sicne this will be considered as anti poor and pro elite and rich. You will have to wait for some time anyway, since it will be another 5r or so months before the car reaches customers anyway. Remember that production and assembly of the car will be highly flexible and modular, so FTatas can scale up production very rapidly in case of high demand.

I think it will go well if they change the name to Cozy Coupe. Perhaps no.... Little Tykes might sue them on a copyrights battle. I do not think that will catch up in the USA. If I am not mistaken, the law does not permit Golf Carts on public roads. :-))
