Can the rent amount specified on a rent receipt be different from the amount specified in the lease agreement signed between the landlord and the tenant?

Legally the rent receipts must be as per lease agreement to avoid any dispute. In the case of any dispute the receipt issued by the landlord accept as a proof of rent payment The settlement to be done by the authority as per lease agreement.
