What is the rate of TDS on Rent fron April 2010, and what is the limit.?

    TDS @ 10.3% is applicable only if the rent exceeds Rs 1.8 L annually. This limit, which was Rs 1.2 L earlier, has been increased from 01.04.2010 HMT

hi It is presumed that you are referring to Rent from House Property. For the current FY 2009-10 the limit for TDS on Rent is Rs.1,20,000 (TDS rate being 10.3% up to 30-9-2009 and thereafter 10% because Cess of 3% stands withdrawn. For the FY 2010-11 the limit for TDS on Rent is proposed to be increased from Rs.1,20,000 to Rs.1,80,000 effective date proposed is 1-7-2010 (TDS rate being 10%, cess of 3% not applicable any more.
