As per the regulations duty free allowance is Upto Rs 25,000/- and dutiable goods in excess of 25,000 are liable for customs duty. The goods over and above the free allowances shall be chargeable to customs duty @ 35% + an education cess of 2% i.e. to say the effective rate is 35.7%.
