Why the night is black?

Why would an "ex" white supremacist want to sit with a couple of black chicks all night?

  • OK, so my high school friend and I decided to meet up Saturday for a bit of karaoke. We get to the place, get a table and get to catching up when this dude with a cowboy hat, tight jeans and whatnot comes over and says something like "What's two beautiful women like you blah blah." He pretty much invites himself to sit with us, then proceeds to go on and on about my tattoos and he shows me his....one was this gremlin or creature with a confederate flag bandana with guns blazing so a red flag goes off and I ask him where he's from (since some of those from the South claim the confederate flag isn't about racial hate) and he tells me he's from Michigan. So, now I ask him what's the deal with the tattoo. He looks confused and tells me he got the "other ones" covered up and that he "used" to be a white supremacist but changed. He said it was one of the biggest mistakes of his life and it took "for a black woman like you and a Mexican" to change his mind. So the guy literally sits with us the entire time going on about his life and all the bad stuff that's happened. In my head, I just want to keep the dude in my eyesight because i'm paranoid by nature and the situation just reeked of BREAKING NEWS. We ended up dipping out seperately so he didn't know what was going on. The guy was hitting on my friend hard, asking her to come back to his house so he could cook for her and just random jibberish. So, do you think this guy was trying to set us up to kill us in the parking lot, or was he trying to rid himself of whatever lingering thoughts were left of his white power days by paying homage all night to a couple black chicks. The whole situation was just bizarre and the whole time i'm thinking in my head of the most efficient way to get the upper hand on this guy if he tries something. Anyway, your thoughts?

I think that you should protect yourself and you did but also don't jump to conclusions. It is stupid to be alone with anyone you just met former racist or not. But you seemed to handle the situation with grace and intellect in my opinion. It is understandable that you don't want to be affiliated with someone like him.

Whoaa, seemed like a real awkward ending to a night. I dunno about the whole trying-to-murder-two-minority-chicks motive... I mean if he was open enough to show you his tattoos and tell you about his past, it'd be a stupid move if he actually had a master plan to abduct you. Anyway, the guy just seemed like a wacko, he was trying to get laid and he probably had one too many drinks. Although I wouldn't doubt if he tried to get violent... "ex-racists" tend to have anger issues. I'm glad you guys came out safe.

Personally I think he's still a hater, the Confederate flag bandanna would have been tossed if he was truly reformed. Or at least covered up the tattoo. If he was really sick of being a white racist he could have gotten it removed or changed into something else. (How about just tattooing a black panther fist or a chinese dragon over the top of it.)

all guys are alike and i never seen you write so much! i had a hard time reading all that cess. And the answer is ........drum roll.......... he seen some beautiful women. simple as that. black, white, hispanic, racist, sexist, blah blah blah. All guys at a bar know the ultimate rule drink and sit next to the hottest chick in the bar. And work on your game. Cause even if it doesnt work you can figure out what works and what doesnt. And thats the only place where you can come up to women and they understand what you are getting at. As far as that news stuff. thats ridiculous. im the first to say we have some women walking around clueless. But thats paranoid. Most of the 8 oclock news you explain is women walking home with strangers! and you are with another girl. the chances of two girls getting killed in that situation us slim to none. You should have your guard up! but lets not get paranoid about it. you were just a fine girl that he wanted to sit with. plain and simple. and why leave separately. two girls is harder to kill then one! its like the difference in trying to break in a house where you know their door is unlocked or breaking in a house where you know they have a guard dog, high security and a camera!

My thoughts are both ways. 1) He could have been setting you guys up for the 8 o'clock news. 2) He could be changed. It happens. But, why, if he was changed, did he cover up some racist tattoos with a confederate flag? Weird. Anyway, I wouldn't have left with him, either.
