Is Lush cheaper in England or America?

Is England less racist than America?

  • Im starting to think that england is less racist and more excepting than america. England really seems like a big melting pot. i kno america is too, but it just seems like England would be a lot friendlier than america.Ive never been to england, but everytime i watch bbc news or some other english show i see more interracial couples in the background and just a more diverse crowd than i do when i watch news/shows in America.what do u guys think?

  • Answer:

who knows what people really think about the issue. I suspect that many here do not express in public what they think in private. We have laws against racial discrimination with severe penalties, also laws against discriminating against gender preference or just about anything you can think of.We even have one that says you cant disturb a box of eggs! They dont say what eggs so every time you pick up a box at the store you are technically breaking the law.we do have loads of multi racial couples and they are a normal part of daily life and its the closet bigots that object in Private if they did so in the public domain they would be hauled into court and heavily fined or sent to jail. The UK is no better or worse than any other country in this area =just better at hiding it

They have their race issues also. And not only with black and white. Keep watching the news it dose not get out often but every once in a while it will. As for America. This country was founded on racism. They came over and stole the land from the real "native americans" tried to enslave them. they said F*** **u and left. So they started with indentured servants and other cultures the black race just stuck. The whole thing is silly but can't really stop someone from being stupid. Now

Well, Europe in general puts on a better face. But in reality I think America has better relations. "Institutionalised racism" is the problem in Europe. For instance, you will never see a Black Prime Minister in England. Ever..... I think Americans just happen to voice their mistrust aloud more often than Europeans. Think of it this way. America does not really belong to any one "group", it is completely up for grabs to whomever has the most influence and political sway. So conflict will be more apparent. England, however, belongs to English people. Anglo Saxon Protestant people have a moral claim to the country. So no matter what happens that will never change. When one group is in charge for the duration TRUE assimilation of anyone "different" will be near impossible.

America is an awfully big country. I'm not sure what places you're thinking of when you say that America isn't as accepting as other countries, but there's a world of cultural difference between people in New York, LA or Chicago and people in Wyoming, Nebraska or the Dakotas. Also, don't believe or judge based on what the news channel shows on TV. Everyone has an agenda out there and don't think for a second cable news producers are immune to this. If you want some knowledge on something, go out and experience it for yourself.

Live there for a while and you will find out. No really, I am from England and lived there for over half my life. It has racism. Trust me. My family still lives there, my sister still lives there, she tells me what goes on in her son's school. Racial slurs are said without much reprimand. To tell you the truth I think it is at least equal to USA perhaps worse there in some aspects. I am just going by personal experience and experience of a couple of friends who dated interacially. There are also racially charged attacks on others. You see the country does let everyone in and so it does look like a melting pot, it doesn't mean that it is one big happy family. America has just elected a non white person to be president. England has a longer history of government and I doubt they are even close to having a non white prime minister. (country leader) So figure that one out.

USA is a melting pot UK is predominately white but has multiracial and diverse cities not melting pots USA though has worse racial relations UK cities show better racial relations Views of races are much stronger in the USA than UK because there have been more than two races in the USA in large numbers since 1600s and one was enslaved, one was being killed off and one saw themselves as superior Today the one which saw themselves superior remain on top economically the one which was enslaved lag just being and the ones being killed of hardly exist but I reckon Hispanics replaced them and all three seem to be in groups who may smile at eachother though hate being their backs Here in the UK large numbers of another race only appeared in the last 70 years and migrated to the cities after WW2 devastated them they came and replaced the lower classes of whites and views of race were not strong here and are only growing today in a world where everything is getting equal so thats possibly why things seem better here. Minorities here didnt come as slaves or were sought to be killed off they came here to work in places no one wanted to basically filling in the gap.

Never having watched the news in America I don't know what the degree of racism is over there - but you have just elected a black president!!! I think the younger generation in the UK is more accepting of people irrespective of what colour/race a person is. The older generation are still a bit stuck in their ways.though. You'd need to experience both to make your own judgement about what you thought was friendly. We are very very politically correct over here though, painfully so!
