Why are white people considered the superior race?

says who? it's all in our mind. I'm not white and I dont considered them as superior than any other race and they should not be considered as superior. They are just the same as black or brown skinned. They eat through their mouth, they breathe through their nose and they **** through their @ss. ;) so what makes them more superior?

I agree with some of what you said, but there are dark Chinese people and light ones. I must admit though that it seems that lighter skinned people of other cultures are more represented. Some examples: there are black latinos and dark american indian latinos, but you don't see these represented often, even on latin american tv channels and the like. Same thing in many Asian countries. You tend to see more lighter-skinned Asians represented in the media than darker ones, to the extent that some people in other countries don't even know that really dark chinese, indians, etc. even exist. I happen to think that both dark and light skin is beautiful.

only white people feel that they are superior, but we all know that's not true. However they do have certain privileges their ethnicity has entitled them to...most do not comprehend the struggles a minority living in a majority country goes through., since they are the majority. I believe the notion of 1 perceiving themselves to be better then someone else based on skin color is an internalized legacy of slavery, that is practiced world-wide. In America, I think most whites view fair skinned blacks as being the "preferred, prettier, and more desirable" version of blacks. Whether this is conscious or unconscious decision-this differs on a individual basis. I recommend reading the book, The Color Complex.

Dude, only ignorant people would consider white folks superior than other races. Hey lets face it if whites are superior then why did they need slave labor to do everything, or why do they have all there stuff made in China, Japan, and Mexico. I'm just saying if you think about it being lighter skinned doesn't help you in the sun or in the fields. We should all be happy we're not green.

huh? I don't think the Chinese are superior to the Japanese? wherever did you get that? In fact, when it comes to technology, the Japanese are more advanced than the Chinese.

I seriously think it has to do with our basic fear of darkness... ie: Darkness= bad (as in cowboy hats, Darth Vader, Paladin etc.) and Light or white = "good", for example Roy Rogers' hat, holy ritual robes (for the most part) and even the traditional color of the wedding dress. Kind of weird and definately not "right".. but it's just my observation.

Actually Chinese aren't really considered superior to the Japanese. White are considered the superior race in America and Europe because we built the societies up that exist there and are responsible for most of the achievements. Also most studies show that whites have higher IQ than most races (Asians being the exception) and have far lower crime rates than most other races too. If you look at countries that are mostly black, they are a mess compared to countries with european descendants. Look at Haiti and the Dominican Republic for two neighboring countries and how different they are.

you have your own answer in your question, so what are you actually trying to ask?

Because it's a survival tactic and it has been working for thousands of years. Why stop now?
