What can you do about irritated hair follicles?

I'm confused about my biracial hair, do people with straight hair have less hair follicles?

• So I am biracial and I don't get it. I thought if your hair is straight it lays down right? Well I have curly hair but on the side of my hair it's straight the top of my hair is looser curls and the back is curly too.BASICALLY my hair is a mix of curls and straight hair. Shouldn't the hair on the side of my head like lay down? It's basically straight so I don't get it. I've been growing it out and it's just like sticking out .. it's like an inch maybe or a little more? So is the hair at the crown of my head...it's more straight but it still sticks up. How come when white people have straight hair it lays down? When my hair gets wet it's like super straight...so how come it just looks different when I dry my hair? When I pick my hair up it's straight! It just stands up. It looks spikey...wtf? My hair is like 1 1/2 - 2 inches.

  Same amount of hair follicles, less protein. More protein in the hair, stronger the curl.
