How did we allow Tyler?

I disagree. His movies usually portray a good character and the message is usually very positive. Even if some of the other characters do negative things, the main point of the story is to overcome whatever you are facing and rise above. Like in Diary of a Mad Black Woman, she meets a very nice black man, after being treated badly in her marriage. Nothing bad about that. Family Reunion, another case of a single mom who finds love with a good black man. Daddy's Little Girls, a black father, hardworking, who fights to get custody of his daughters, and falls in love with a black lawyer. Why Did I Get Married, again black couples facing real issues that many marriages face, whether black or white. His movies show the positive and negative of the black community, and how you can overcome it. Edit: I forgot to mention that of course he can say it, because he is black and lived it. Just like Jewish can make fun of themselves, but someone else cannot.

i love tyler perry and his movies. they always have a good "christian" message in them. what an excellent role model!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The people he talks about in his movies are people some of his fans can relate to and l have known several women like the Madea character and l was somewhat shock at Spike Lee not embracing him,but bacially calling him a sellout instead of giving him support

While i am not in anyway shape or form a fan of his. He is brillient at marketing himself. (do you ever see any other shows creator in every single one of there comercials) He puts out a product that ceratin people like and has made alot of money for himself. Hes proof that while people can complian all they want about life and race being unfair, that if you go out and work for it rather than ask you can be a success

What is so hard about seeing the humor in his movies? it is clearly over-exaggerated. The purpose serves as entertainment. and then, there is a moral at the end of each story. I dont feel he is painting any negative light on a community that has MANY more issues than a crazy grandma (who happens to make me laugh). First of all, we do have a lot of single moms, men DO cheat on their wives, and there are crackheads. This man comes from New Orleans, I'm sure he has seen and heard a lot more than he divulges. And once again, he is humorous. I support him, hope he continues in success. Why does the black community (some people) always have to be negative about another's fortune? I could see if he glorified his villian characters- but he doesn't- he makes them look bad. unlike Scarface, and Goodfellas- where the villians look more like hero's. no one complains about that though- they get imitated in the real streets. lol@ crazy pasty. A little extreme there- but true nevertheless. @ Yoshi- first off, no white person has the "right" to emulate us in that way- what do they know about our granmothers? our inner -relationships? NOTHING! quit always trying to find a way why white people should be welcomed to do or say things towards us, that does not concern them. Stick to your scripts.

Newsflash Sweetie, You didn't allow Tyler Perry to do a dam thing. He did his thing. People pay to be entertained and he is providing the type of entertainment that people are willing to pay for. It's not my thing either. Trust me. I don't like his movies either so he didn't get rich off my movie money but he dam sure got rich and I have to give him his props for that. Edit: Daaaaaaamn Cocoa! Black people are clueless when it comes to good cinema, If you haven't noticed, almost every black man in Hollywood has imitated a black woman. I think Eddie Murphy, Martin Laurance, Tyler Perry, Flip Wilson, Wonda from In living color. They have all been fat (check) foul attitude (check) ghetto (check) rude (check). Black women know their a joke, hence why seeing themselves is funny.
