I think that Kenya Moore is a beautiful black woman...?

  • Why does the media not show beautiful dark black women on TV a lot. Usually when I see a black (dark) woman on top TV movies(or popular) she isn't very pretty. I believe the "white media" does this on purpose as if to say every dark black women isn't pretty. There are MANY beautiful Dark Black women, just as there are many beautiful light and white and all other colors of women. I think Kenya Moore is alot prettier than many women I've seen on TV, and I know there are many other dark women that are just as pretty as she. BTW Even black shows always have light or white women "usually" as main characters on their shows. Whereas all of the men are dark. If you're gonna have light women, you might as well have light men. That would only be fair to both sides. I'm not trying to offend so please don't be offended. P.S. My mother and father are EXTREMELY light skinned and I'm dark, and we all agree on the same concept.

    I think she's very pretty but with the media you have to be light skinned and have "white" features to be beautiful. It's amazing how corrupt America is in the year 2007.

I had never heard of Kenya Moore before now. I looked at her pictures and I agree with you, she is beautiful. I think it is a shame that more beautiful black women are not shown on television or in the media. I think we as women are held up to riduculously high standards and this is doubly so for black women. I am a light-skinned/mixed-race black woman, & I agree that light women should not always be shown as the ideal black women. It sends all the wrong messages and I think it just serves to reinforce negative divides within the Black community.

i dont thinks shes dark, she is brown. micheal blackson could be dark (actor). i dont think it is right for you to blame anyone. we, as society, have allowed this picture perfect portrayal to unfold. they only show what people want to see, and not so many people care to complain, or stop watching the shows. i do wish that people of all oppressed ethinicities were better represented.

Learn a bit more about who has bought which stations, you'll be very surprised to find that quite a few of these decisions are made by blacks. (no argument)

You're right, She's really geogeous! Both light skinned and dark skinned blacks can be georgeous, and sometimes the media can prove this. Ever see the Fresh Prince of Bel - Air? Leading actors are a mix of light skinned males, and dark skinned females. Hillary - light skinned female Will - light skinned male Ashley - dark skinned female Carlton - dark skinned male. Aunt Vivian was light skinned, then her part changed to dark skinned with a light skinned man (Unlce Phil). Sometimes television mixes it up.

Oh yes, I agree. She is extremely beautiful. Fact of the matter is if she was light skin she would've been on many of the "hot celebrities" lists **But motoson ^^^^brings up excellent points
