What do Buddhist believe in and what do they want for themselves?

If people tend to see what they want to see and find reason to believe what they want to believe,What is truth

  • What is fact behind simple prejudice and bias? How can one no reality when our perspectives are so narrow?

  • Answer:

The truth is there are no facts behind prejudice. Prejudice people tend to pigeonhole. If they see one or two people of the same group do something, all of a sudden the entire ethnicity becomes labeled. With bias, there is only ignorance. When people are afraid to try something new or afraid to educate themselves more, they tend to hate it more than understand. It's is often displayed toward children of multicultural backgrounds or even inter-racial couples. They get the most crap because people feel like they can't identify with one specific group. The result, fear + ignorance+bias = stupid racist. As long as there is tunnel vision, perspectives will remain narrow. It is because of the past that so many people are still judging the society as a whole today. We need to break the chains of the past and look forward to rebuilding the future together. Everyone can live in harmony if they choose to be more open minded.

Truth is an illusion. There is no fact or logic when it comes to ignorance. Perspective is the same as opinion, the only way to have it be universal would be to have reality be the same for every one with an opinion.

facts are what remain constant no matter the observer or the observation. Only things subject to interpretation are available to prejudice and bias.

Awesone question! I do not know answers, but it is a very thought provoking question. Think we have to look at ourselves first and figure out if and what prejudices we may hold. I WILL start with myself!

good question. The truth? It requires some critical thinking capacity. The rest of the time, people just remain reactionary. That's another word for moron. =)

the fact is that there is no truth in a simple sense. truth is what actually happened, intersected with what everyone thought happend, or what they thought when it happend, as well as what everyone thought that was doing it. of course an earthquake or something, is easy in comparison. it IS and that is the truth. but really we can't know reality with such narrow prospectives. to find the truth for yourself search three things. your instinct, your feelings, your mind, your second mind (if aplicable), and at least three diferent noted authorities. IF EVERY ONE OF THEM MATCH you have total personal truth. (but not real truth necissarily...) just pray if you beleive, or think if you don't

Truth is perception my friend. If two people are standing on different sides of a street corner, but, they both few the same accident there accounts of what happened will not be the same.
