Why is it that white people get such a hard time for slavery when...?

• to start with, I just want to say I think slavery is terrible and should not be done, it is an absolute atrocity. I realise it was not all black people who profited from selling slaves, but some did. Not all white people took part in the slave trade, some did, but this was an incredibly small proportion of white people in the world at the time. Also, lots of other races have had slavery, the Arabs spring to mind, they enslaved black people for far longer than white people, and even today see black people in the middle east as being less than they are. I also think nobody alive today is personally responsible for things happening over 150 years ago, but some people do not agree with me.

  Unfortunately you're "beating a dead horse". White people will always be shown as responsible for this, you never will get a black person to admit it's more then just white people responsible or that it stems from the slaves own country selling them, that will never happen. No matter how much evidence there is to show slavery was happening way before the Transatlantic trade or try to push the point that Africans sold their own people, the finger will always be pointed at "white people". Black people will never hold the other side responsible for SELLING human beings like animals, your most likely to see pigs fly before this was happen. Notice how some people are answering your question, no matter how much you state you don't agree with slavery in anyway, because of you stating it's more then just "white people" responsible of the inhuman behavior, it's turned into you condoning the behavior, even though we all can read that you don't. These kinds of responses is just a ploy to turning it into something else so most black people don't have admit it's not only whites were responsible, they will never hold anyone responsible except whites.
