How long is a short essay suposed to be?

I'm suposed to do a essay nd speach on a subject and it has to have some cultural aspect to it..?

• at first i was planning on doing it on street racing and how there is a culture out there but it wasnt aproved and it's been hard to do that...do you think me doing it on reggaeton and the latino culture count?and i'm suposed to do it on a subject that has another side to it and i'm thinking about doing it how certain people think that the music is not good (like most whites think that rap is unsuitable music or something like that and help me out with the word i cant think of it now)...but yeah would that be a good idea??? and if not i'm planing or working with my main culture thats brazilian and i can also use any ideas on that
