I am off to Iraq soon and would like to know there culture, anyone have any information?

pack plenty of bacon and pork by products they just love that stuff over there but they just don't know how to make it

I really don't think that the US troops already there have left much of the culture of the country for anyone to sample. From the TV footage it appears that Iraq is a country under occupation by a hostile force & the people are in despair. They have no normality & live every day in constant fear. Can you imagine walking down the main street in your home town & there are armed troops in every doorway, mines & bombs going off everywhere, children unable to get an education because the school is being used as a store by US military. We so-calles civilised countries should be well & truly ashamed for the way the ordinary Iraqi people are being treated. The women, children & probably most of the men have done nothing wrong except be born in a country that has Oil reserves George Bush wants to get his hands on. this war is about money, oil & nothing else.

Hear Hear Monkeyface. My Partner has served in Iraq and in his role met many Iraqis. He describes them as good natured and friendly, staggering when you think that he was uniformed and that they had been illegally occupied. They appreciated his efforts to get the area he was in back on it's feet. I am not sure that I would have been so generous under the circumstances.
