Why are people so misinformed about mixed race people?

  • 1. Not every single mixed race person is attractive. 2. Just because you've seen one, does not mean all the others look the same. 3. There is no such thing as best 'race combination'. 4. All mixed race people are not confused and lost. 5. They are mixed race not just not one side of their gene pool. 6. They are not infertile. 7. They can date whoever. 8. No one knows what their child will look like in the first place, but it's a safe bet to say it will posses characteristics from BOTH parents, regardless of race. I keep seeing questions where people ask what's the 'best combination is' or 'i am this, this and this' and people reply 'you must be sooo beautiful'. I find it so damn irritating that because of the one person they saw of that mix, all the others must look the same, and as for saying where you come from, how the hell does that have any relevance on what you look like? That's like saying all white people have blonde hair and blue eyes, all black people have dark skin and all Asians are short. I have never met a native American. If i met one, my opinions on all others would not be placed on this single individual. Why do people believe this rubbish? I can understand the curiosity, but not these myths and legends.

    I've got 3 biracial children and I agree with you 100%. I've taught them that they are special--to me and my husband. They are no better or worse than anyone else. When they were babies, I was irritated by the "OMG, they are so beautiful" comments--I felt uncomfortable. Babies of just one race are beautiful too!

For example, a woman is more likely to reach orgasm while mating with a man who has symmetric facial features. There is no hard and fast rule for us to follow, so we rely on these heuristics, which produce good results most of the time. EDIT: Attractivenes indeed correlates with race. If you look at the classifeds section of a college newspaper, you will often see advertisements for young women to donate their eggs. The specifications seldom ask for black women, but often for Asian and Indian ones. Beauty pageant winners are also seldom black.
