How long was your shortest relationship?

How long have you been in a relationship with you partner, how did you guys meet? (LTR Only 3+ years)?

  • Just curious. I just read and interesting post about a gay male that was disappointed in how long Gay relationship last. Goes on to say that Gay men and women can not have long lasting faithful relationships. Wow, poor guy that has not experienced what I have had with my partner for that last 4 years. Which got me to thinking, how many others out there like me, whom are having successfully long lasting Gay relationship? Please share your experiences, memories, and thoughts as a beacon of hope for those who think that it cannot be done.

    My partner and I have been together 28 years as well. We met in college in the 80's, I quit mid the first semester to start a job. The phone bills were outrageous! I had to live on peanut butter toast and diet pepsi for a month! She switched colleges, I visited her every weekend. Finally she quit, moved in with me and the rest is history! We have had our ups & downs. Three years ago was very touchy, I came the closest to rethinking things. My partner was going through an emotional issue and has many medical problems. There was a certain point we know call "the incident", and the sex died for almost a year. But we weathered the storm, came back stronger and the sex is better than ever! We're like teenagers again. We reshaped our whole lovemaking/role playing to forge a new bond. I do believe sometimes gay men have a tougher time holding long term relationships. Just my thoughts.

We met in a bar. We have been together for 28 years. There are many long term gay relationships, you just don't hear about them.

I think that if you take relationships slow, they will last longer and can be more cherishable. Unfortunately, I haven't had long relationships with girls either. my ex-gf and I only lasted 9 months and that was my longest relationship. but it didn't work out because of her crazy little problems. My exgf before that one only lasted 1.5 mths, but it was my fault that it was so short. For both relationships, I guess it was a little fast, so they didn't last very long either.

i'm 28 .. have been with my gf for almost 10 years... we knew each other at school when we were 14.. but we started dating when we were 18... so yeah.. we were school mates.

We are all products of a heterosexual relationship of a male and female partner. Homosexuality threatens the institution of marriage which brings about family, which is the smallest unit and building block of every society; and as we all know if that if the foundation is faulty, the building is vulnerable. We must stand up to what is wrong! Homosexuality is a perverted act; these people need counseling and rehabilitation maybe even spiritual attention because their desires are not normal. You may perceive them as minorities however as the adage goes "little drops of water makes a mighty ocean" if we do not nib this movement while it is still young, it will grow into a national problem. Remember a stitch in time saves nine. Let's put aside emotional sentiments or rather re-direct them to where they are really needed; the widows, the hungry, the sick, the poor, They are the ones who needs to "have human rights and need love, tolerance, freedom, dignity and state protection.” as you well stated.
