What is the best way to find Muslim roommates?

  • I am planning to move to Houston in the next 6 months and I would prefer to have roommates whom are either Islamic, Hindu, or Slavic as I have more in common. I also have had issues in the past in waiting until last minute and having bad experiences with Roommates that have conflicting lifestyles. I also recently converted to Islam so feel it would be most ideal to have Muslim or Hindu roommates. I also would prefer having roommates that will not proselytize or tell me not to blow something up when i am planning to go to Masjiid. I also would prefer to have roommates who speak the languages I am trying to learn. Farsi, Turkish, Urdu, Hindi, Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, Tagalog,Arabic, Russian, French, Polish, or Korean. What would be the best way to advertise that as I understand it is not legal for me to state I am looking for a Muslim roommate. Would be ideal for me to create a Roommate Resume. I would prefer to get my own place however as i will not have a job when i arrive and will be attending college I would want to rent a room.

    Ironic that this is Lgbt, anyways you should try to meet knew people with different views, not saying find someone who's your polar opposite, but you shouldn't be so specific, go with the flow, college is supposed to be a time of self discovery and change, as well as education.

If I happen to be at your situaltion,i prefer some non-muslim roomates.I think it's a great opportunity to guide them to right path too.not by asking them or in that way they fell embarassing but subconciously.And If I succeed or at least I try,Allah will surely reward me to do some struggle in his way.
