When was the Carnival Pride built?

In Chicago, who were the marching men with rifles that struck preening, girlie poses in the Gay Pride Parade.?

• I saw this troupe of volunteer males back in the 1990's perform in the Gay Pride Parade, and they were very entertaining! They were trim, well-built, clean cut, and by their approach, you would perceive them as a well-coordinated group of macho, marching military men. Then as they went through their various precision marching maneuvers, manipulating and twirling their white wooden marching rifles, they would suddenly strike a very effeminate pose like a glamour girl or a Priss -- and it was so suprising and disarming, it was hilarious! You watched with rapt attention as to what funny pose they would come up with next. I think they were in the Lincoln Park area as I saw them practicing one day in Lincoln Park. I believe they generated a certain amount of notariety as one of the favorite or more interesting performing groups in the Gay Pride Parade which in Chicago with over 300 thousand spectators, was second in size to only the St. Patrick's Day Parade, so this was no small event. What was the name of that group of marching men, and are they still around today? Did they ever organize so much as to create a website or a place where they have archived videos of one or more of their parade appearances? Whether you are straight, bi, or gay, seeing these guys perform was always a riot and I'm just curious if they are still around or if anyone remembers them.
