Does Target hire full time?

Is Target being discriminative..or?

  • I know somebody that's close to me and we think Target is being discriminating or I'm not sure. She is gay. Currently in Utah. Started working at Target this year in Food Av. Within two weeks they were recognizing her as a hard worker, they told her quote on quote "I've never seen this lobby be so clean" you really care about your job ect. Now being there only a month and a half she got asked by an ETL (executive team leader) if she would like to be a team leader and she responded yes. Then the regular team leader quit. She works with another team member that's a really lazy guy. He takes longer breaks (ones you are paid for) Texts in the back. Doesn't clean. Doesn't do dishes. Walks around for 20 minutes around the store till he has to clock out. Let me mention that the old team leader that quit and the lazy guy are friends. Another gay guy that works sometimes in Food Av used to work there all the time until those two made him not want to work in that area so he asked to move someplace else which took a long time. She complained about the lazy guy not working and they said they would do something about it. They still haven't. How can someone so lazy be there still? He's been there for 4 years. Now they gave the position to someone else who doesn't even want the Team Leader position after she told the ETL she would be one. It has gotten worse with the lazy guy. It just seems they want her doing all the work. They need to hire more people and the ETL now asked her if she knew anyone who could work there, she said her cousin but that he didn't have experience he said that was alright that he would give him an interview. Her cousin applies (puts her as a reference) and calls and calls. He gets thru to the HR and she says " sorry your time frame doesn't fit with ours" when he put the right time. Again the HR doesn't like her. She cuts her off and hasn't changed her W2 form. She wanted to claim 1 not 0. its been over a month. Is there anything she can do?

    its not discrimination to not listen to interoffice griping and gossip. regardless of the sexual preference of the office fink.
