How do I remove my age in My Profile (YM)?

• While in Yahoo Messenger, I clicked on my picture and then My Profile, and was shocked to see that my age was shown. My name, nickname, gender, and location were also shown, which is fine with me. However, I don't want my age to be seen by anyone! How do I remove my age? I went to edit and also my updates, but couldn't find the way to remove my age. Help!! Thanks

  A little of topic but I just wanted to let you know that your full name will not show to anybody but your Profile Connections. Everybody else will see your Display Name. And on a teens profile the age will not show except to Profile Connections. Now back to the age issue. Well I have good news and bad. Which do you want first? LOL. I will start with the good. You will eventually be able to change and or hide your age but you will have to wait 35 days after you choose the 2 new secret questions/answers you will read more about below. =================================== WHY CAN'T I EDT MY AGE ON MY YAHOO! PROFILE Many people have been asking why they cannot edit or hide the age that is shown on their regular Yahoo! Profiles and I could not figure out a way to edit it either and was wondering why Yahoo! would do such a thing. On the old profile system you could put any age you wanted on your profile. As it is now in the new profile system, the age that shows is dependent upon the birth date you gave when you created your Yahoo! Account. Some people do not give their real information when they create an account and have forgotten what birth date they gave and so wonder why some odd age is showing up for them. But things are changing and birth date is being phased out as a security question which is one reason you cannot change it right now. Instead Yahoo! wants you to choose 2 new Secret Questions and Answers. Then 35 days after you choose those you should be able to change your age. Many of you will get the notice about the new Security Questions when you log into Yahoo but if you do not want to wait or if you chose to be reminded later then follow the steps below to jump start this process. If you cannot wait that long then your only option is really to hide your profile. Since they are still using your birth date as a security question, as well as your other identifying information such as zip code and Country of Residence that you gave when you created the account, if there is any chance you do not remember this then be sure to sign into My Account Info and add an alternate email address other than a yahoo one. And verify it! 2. Use this official yahoo log in page: https://login.yahoo.com/config/login instead of logging in though choose the option “I can't access my account.” 3. Then a “Looks like you need some help?” window will open. Choose the option of “My password doesn't work.” Click Next. 4. Enter Yahoo! ID and the code. Click Next. 5. On this page if you have an alternate email address you can use that or you can choose “I can't access any of the above” If you don't know the birth date, zip code or Country of Residence then be sure to choose the Alternate Email option. 6. Follow through with whatever option you chose and follow the prompts. If you need to be sure to visit your alternate email address and follow those steps. Continue until you can successfully create a password. And then again follow the prompts. 7. When you get to the screen that says at the top “You have successfully reset your password. Yahoo! is changing the way you can recover your account in case you forget your password. The following information is required in order to use your Yahoo! Account.” 8. Now look at the bottom of that page and you will see the area to pick 2 new secret questions and answers. Be sure to pick something that cannot be guessed even by the people who know you the best and be sure to write them down. 9. Again follow the prompts until you get to the screen telling that you were successful. 10. Now you have to wait 35 days before you can change or hide the age on your Yahoo! Profile. If you do not want your age to show during this time, you can always hide your profile. I followed the steps I wrote above 4 times and was able to pick 2 new secret questions and answers each time.
