How Can You Tell When Someone Is Online On Yahoo Messenger?

Activating Yahoo Messenger on my yahoo profile; someone please tell he how i can activate it!!?

  You would have to download and install Yahoo Messenger in order to join the Yahoo Chat rooms. Yahoo! Chat is located in the Messenger menu at the top of Yahoo Messenger. It comes directly from a yahoo server and by-passes the web installer that most use that can be a problem for some. If on Windows Vista right click the full installer and choose “Install as Administrator”.
