How can I search for my friend yahoo email id?

On Yahoo!7 Messenger if you want to add a friend how do you do this?

  • If they have their email address displayed can you just send an email to the address or do you need to be added to their friend list? What is the difference between your Yahoo ID, Profile, Nickname, Real Name and when are each of these meant to be used? If you have 3 different Profiles will people knowing one of these be able to find the other Profiles you use or do you have to tell them? Finally, when doing a member search can the Profile, Nickname, Real Name be used or only the Yahoo ID? Sorry for all the questions but I'm new to this and the online help is not very easy to understand.
