How do you add a picture on your profile on youtube?

you know how on your profile that little picture on your profile and if you dont have a picture its like blank and a pic of a white figure? i cant find out how to upload one. i know if you upload a video it will sometimes make that picture a scene in that video but i want to upload my own. can you help me

To the right of your username on YouTube, there is a small flag that points down. Hover over that and click "Account". You'll be sent to your overview. Under your blank picture there will be a clickable link that says "Change". Click that, then click "Browse" and find the picture you're trying to upload from your computer. You can upload a JPG, non-animated GIF, BMP, or PNG file. Make sure to SAVE CHANGES. Also, the change doesn't occur immediately. It sometimes takes several minutes for your image to appear.
