How do I make my comments visible to only the contact that i send them to like yahoo messenger used to be.

If you chat via IM it is not being broadcast to others. If you send a message to one of your Profile Connections via their Yahoo Profile, no one will see it but that person because it is actually sent to their Yahoo! Mail.
