How can I block someone from the Yahoo mail?

How to block someone in yahoo mail/chat section?/Can they see if im online?

I want to know when your in your yahoo email account and on the left theres the Chat&Mobile texts section, if i have a contact in there, and go to their yahoo profile and click block, and now have it set to block IMs from them can they still see when im logged into my yahoo mail?/online? ...im new to yahoo :S

They cant if you set it to-- Offline. I keep that chat box set on-- I Am " offline" Its an annoyance. Says Im online, when I am work, and computer is off. It keeps popping up all the time, with old messages. I finally just turned it off. I have MSN and Yahoo Instant Messengers.. I dont need it
