How do i change my display name on file?

Cannot change display name...?

I have been trying to change my display name for days! when I go into my account, edit preferences, my information (order may be wrong) and then I edit BASICS. After entering new display name and then hitting save...a box comes up saying "ALERT MESSAGE (in purple) then the next line is a blue "i" Invalidated input information in black. I am changing my display name to stahlt. I have tried other display names and it will not allow me to change to those either. Help!

If you want to change your display name here, locate your display name on the middle right corner on this page and click on it. It will direct you to your profile here. Locate Edit My Preferences and click on it. Locate Change Name.
