How can I change my nickname?

Who can tell me how to change my nickname?

i know this looks silly...but actually i have a BIG problem with this thing.....every time i change my nickname (i don't write anything at names,only nickname)......everybody in my messenger list can only see the old one,but no one can see the new one.....only the new persons that i added after i changed my nickname can see it.what should i do?some help wouldn't hurt.

the problem is this: you cant really give yourself a nickname. one must be awarded to you
