Why won't my Avatar show up on my yahoo IM on the web?

Okay I have read most of peoples answers to why there avatar won't show up on yahoo. Will mine shows up on yahoo profile and mail......BUT it does not show up when I IM people on the web in yahoo. It just shows a smiley grey face. I went into my yahoo pulse and checked off "hide my profile" but still my avatar won't show up when I IM my friends on yahoo mail web... CAN YOU PLEASE HELP Me????

Open and click Messenger on the tool bar, scroll to and click My Display Image, choose one of the three choices there, then Select or Customize. If you don't like your selection, you can click browse and be taken to your Pictures Folder. To choose one of those, right-click on the photo, scroll up to Select and click. This will place that photo as your Messenger image. It will also stay in that Messenger collection for easy access should you choose to take it down and put it back up. As for the avatar, if you click Customize you'll go to the avatar page where you can customize and save your avatar to be used the same way as your photo was. This is not as complicated as it may seem. It's quite intuitive and really the same as posting any photo anywhere on the web. Once you get the process, it's a breeze! Good luck.
